Role Description
Responsible for leading engineering managers, technical leads, and software developers in delivering high-quality embedded software solutions from concept to release. Oversees project execution, stakeholder management, team development, software architecture, and engineering best practices, while driving Agile delivery, process improvements, CI/CD adoption, and organizational growth to ensure successful product delivery and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
•Lead and manage a team of engineering managers, technical leads, and software developers responsible for embedded software development for beauty technology products.
•Oversee end-to-end software delivery, ensuring projects are completed within timeline, quality standards, product specifications, and budget targets.
•Partner closely with global software leaders, product teams, and cross-functional engineering stakeholders to align development priorities and execution plans.
•Act as the primary representative of the embedded software function, communicating project progress, risks, and priorities to senior leadership and stakeholders.
•Escalate critical technical or operational issues promptly, ensuring visibility of local engineering concerns within the broader leadership team.
•Drive team performance by removing roadblocks, resolving high-priority issues, and implementing strategies to minimize delays in delivery.
•Foster a collaborative, high-performing engineering culture by promoting teamwork, accountability, and continuous professional development.
•Provide hands-on technical guidance when necessary, including software architecture reviews, development support, and adoption of engineering best practices such as CI/CD pipelines, unit testing, and code quality standards.
•Build and strengthen engineering capabilities through workforce planning, identifying skill gaps, hiring top talent, and supporting onboarding and retention initiatives.
•Champion continuous improvement initiatives to optimize development processes, engineering toolchains, workflows, and software quality practices.
Requirements
•Minimum 3 years of experience managing engineering teams or leading technical teams in embedded software development environments.
•At least 10 years of hands-on experience in embedded software engineering using C/C++, including development in both bare metal and RTOS environments.
•Strong knowledge of software engineering lifecycle methodologies, including version control, test-driven development (TDD), continuous integration, and continuous deployment (CI/CD).
•Proven experience managing software delivery in Agile environments, utilizing tools such as Jira or equivalent project management platforms.
•Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop technical teams while building a results-oriented and high-performance engineering culture.
•Strong stakeholder management and influencing capabilities across technical and non-technical teams.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify and present complex technical concepts to executive and business audiences.
•Capable of managing multiple concurrent product releases, timelines, and competing priorities effectively.
•Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical/scientific discipline (or equivalent practical experience).
•Professional fluency in English, both spoken and written.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills
•Experience in IoT product development, motor control systems, or sensor-driven software solutions.
•Familiarity with software build systems, automation pipelines, and configuration management tools.
