Our client is a well-established publicly listed company within the FMCG and edible oils manufacturing industry. As part of their continued operational transformation, they are looking to appoint an experienced Plant Director to lead and strengthen overall plant performance. This role will oversee the full packaging and refinery plant operations for edible oils, driving operational excellence, product quality, productivity, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement initiatives across the facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead overall plant operations covering production, packaging, quality, maintenance, engineering, warehouse, and operational support functions.
  • Drive improvements in product quality, packaging standards, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
  • Build a high-performance manufacturing culture focused on accountability, operational discipline, and continuous improvement.
  • Review and optimise plant KPIs including OEE, downtime, wastage, yield, productivity, and delivery performance.
  • Strengthen quality assurance and food safety compliance in line with industry and regulatory standards.
  • Partner closely with supply chain, commercial, procurement, and technical teams to ensure smooth operational execution.
  • Lead operational transformation and process improvement initiatives across the packaging facility.
  • Mentor and develop the existing plant leadership team and functional heads.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and statutory requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Food Technology, Industrial Management, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 10–15 years of manufacturing leadership experience within FMCG, food manufacturing, edible oils, packaging, or related process industries.
  • Proven track record managing large-scale manufacturing or packaging plant operations.
  • Strong experience in operational turnaround, plant transformation, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Familiarity with food safety, GMP, HACCP, and manufacturing best practices.
  • Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and people management capabilities.
