Our client is an automotive manufacturing company. As part of its continued growth and operational expansion, the company is seeking an experienced General Manager – Operations to lead its end-to-end manufacturing and supply chain operations based in Selangor.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee overall plant and operational activities, ensuring efficient, safe and cost-effective operations.
  • Manage production, warehouse, logistics, quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) functions.
  • Develop and execute operational strategies to improve productivity, efficiency, quality and cost performance.
  • Oversee production planning, capacity utilisation, manpower planning and operational resource allocation.
  • Ensure production output meets agreed quality, cost and delivery (QCD) targets.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean Manufacturing, process optimisation and operational excellence.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs across production, warehouse, logistics and QA/QC teams.
  • Work closely with procurement, engineering, sales and other functions to ensure smooth end-to-end supply chain operations.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant automotive quality standards, safety requirements and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead, develop and motivate the operations team, building a strong culture of accountability, performance and continuous improvement.
  • Identify operational risks and implement appropriate mitigation and contingency plans.


Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Supply Chain or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in manufacturing operations, with significant experience in a senior leadership capacity.
  • Ideally from an automotive OEM / vehicle manufacturing environment, preferably with exposure to automotive assembly or related manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of production, warehouse, logistics and QA/QC operations.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale manufacturing operations and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, production planning and quality management.
  • Commercially astute with strong understanding of cost control, productivity and operational KPIs.
  • Strong leadership, stakeholder management and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Hands-on, commercially minded and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
